Counsellor

A life truly lived constantly burns away veils of illusion, burns away what is no longer relevant, gradually reveals our essence, until, at last, we are strong enough to stand in our naked truth.

The First Thing You Should Know About Me: One of the first things you should know about me is that I am passionate about helping empower others. Empowered to work through past or present hurt. Empowered to meet and overcome challenges. Empowered to pursue goals. Empowered to grow and thrive. Empowered to live freely and authentically. I count it a great honour to come alongside others as they journey through pain, vulnerability, and triumphs, and I aim to hold space for my clients to feel safe and supported.

My Credentials: My draw to helping others experience healing and wellness is longstanding. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Honours), a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University, and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I also am a PhD student at the University of British Columbia. Making current research and evidence-based therapy accessible for people who may benefit most from it is a cornerstone of my practice.

Areas of Interest & Specialization: Living in and relating to our bodies in a healthy way can be especially difficult in this day and age, given the countless messages and pressures we experience. Throughout our lifespan, a variety of experiences impact how we live in and relate to our bodies. How we feel living in our body also often impacts our relationships with others. My counselling approach is grounded in relational-cultural, emotion-focused, and existential frameworks. In concrete terms, I help my clients to understand and improve the way they relate to others, to their emotions, to their body, and to their self. I work with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, self-harm, self-esteem, identity questions, and interpersonal relationships, and specialize in disordered eating, body image issues, sexuality and sexual functioning, fertility and reproductive concerns, and peri- and postnatal transitions.

Other Services I Offer: In addition to my clinical practice, I am available for leading workshops as well as speaking engagements in the areas of body image, eating disorders, sexuality, and reproductive, peri- and post-natal concerns.

My Fees: I offer 50-minute sessions for $120 and 90-minute family sessions for $160. Session fees are payable by cash, credit, cheque, or e-transfer.
