MSc, MCP, RCC

Passionate about my work, I strive to empower my clients by helping them identify their personal strengths, increase their confidence, cultivate self-compassion, and enhance their ability to cope with the challenges they are facing.

I strive to create a safe and non-judgemental space, through empathy, compassion, and objectivity, that empowers individuals, help them feel understood and supported to challenge life’s difficulties and ultimately thrive.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor who specializes in ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. Other areas of expertise include struggles with anger, self-harm, OCD, LGBTQ related issues, and management of school- or work-related stress. My therapeutic approach includes a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness.

I have over 12 years of clinical work experience and have held positions as a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician and as a Psychometrist at the Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre and Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and another Master’s degree in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) and Simon Fraser University.

I also offer Executive Function Coaching for adolescents and adults, as well as customized Executive Function Skills Workshops for parents and teachers. Whether it is at school, at work or in relationships, executive function skill difficulties can impact many areas of our lives.

Executive functions are the self-regulating skills that we all use to accomplish tasks, from getting ready in the morning, to studying for an exam, to meeting deadlines at work. Executive function skills help us plan and organize activities, sustain attention, and persist to complete tasks. In addition, executive function skills allow us to make decisions, shift between situations or thoughts, regulate our emotions and impulsivity, and monitor our thoughts in order to work efficiently and effectively.

Some individuals have weaknesses in executive functions and regardless of how bright they are, they struggle to perform. Schoolwork or employment can become extremely challenging and stressful because they frequently lose things, do not keep track of deadlines, have difficulty moving from one task to another, or leave work until the last minute, therefore, causing significant panic and stress.

Executive Function Coaching is a highly effective type of coaching that teaches individuals how to organize, plan, prioritize, manage time, maintain focus, and self-assess in order to work efficiently and independently.

I am a mental health service provider for the Autism Funding Unit (AFU), First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP).

I provide in-person, as well as online sessions.
