Counsellors

At ThriveLife Counselling & Wellness, we believe that clinicians should be supported with the same person-centered care that we offer our clients. We work to honour those on our team by creating a culture of care, respect and mutual support.
We have intentionally elected to create an alternative model for working in private practice, by blending the independence and autonomy of a rent-based model (where clinicians rent furnished office space and have consistent monthly expenses) with the referral and peer support of an associate-based model (where clinicians are assisted in setting up a strong referral stream to build a thriving practice). Our model unites the best features of existing models for private group practice in an effort to create a home for clinicians where they feel valued and supported while also having autonomy and creative license.

Team members pay a flat monthly fee that includes access to either half or full day office use. Offices are fully furnished and include access to all amenities including printer/fax/copier, wifi, and tissues; access to building amenities including lower level underground parking garage, kitchen, and routinely cleaned washrooms; as well as joint marketing and referral support, and the option to book a group room. Team members can elect to pay a small additional monthly fee to have access to their own independent clinic management account with Jane. Our team members retain autonomy of their practices and their clients - many of our clinicians choose to develop their own logos, websites and marketing materials in addition to the services we provide for them. Meanwhile, we offer a ton of support and help you build your caseload quickly - several of our clinicians have built a full caseload in a couple of months following their start date.
Our office space is beautifully furnished and decorated, with the emotional safety and calm of your clients in mind. (Check out the slide show below) Our offices were built specifically for us and have included several custom additions in an effort to support confidentiality and quality of care, including: custom ventilation to restrict sound travel; double-insulated interior walls to limit sound transfer; and sound-sealed doorways. Our office is located on the main road through Langley, in the heart of Willoughby. It is accessible by transit, and is near an exit from Highway 1. Our location welcomes clients to come for their session and stay for a walk at nearby trails, a coffee at a local cafe, or some quiet window-shopping along the retail stores in nearby Latimer Village.
We have a specific process for welcoming new clinicians to our team. We seek to add clinicians who specialize their work in an area of practice that is not represented by our existing team, or that is able to enhance the services our team offers. We work to build a team that can work collaboratively rather than competitively through diversification of clinical interests. We desire to add clinicians who have experience in the field and who have invested in training beyond their graduate program in their respective area of specialization. While we value the use of clinical skills sets such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, we are looking for clinicians who bring a depth of theory and skill to their work and would prefer clinicians grounded in trauma-informed and more deeply rooted approaches.
Together, we foster a compassionate environment where growth and healing thrive. Your unique insights and skills will be valued, allowing you to contribute to innovative approaches and collaborate on enriching initiatives. As part of our team, you’ll not only enhance your own professional journey but also play a vital role in empowering individuals to navigate their challenges and achieve their goals.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
