It is an honour to be part of your healing process and help you regain your life as you were meant to live it, with reduced influences of past trauma and a strengthened resiliency. Caring, compassion, cultural sensitivity, and competency in a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment are key to connecting with what matters to you right now.

Using a strength-based biopsychosocial lens, we will utilize several integrated evidence-based modalities in your healing journey like eye-brain techniques, emotion-focused practices, somatic strategies, family systems and attachment theory. Clients often share that this integrated approach leads to deeper understanding and an increased overall quality of life. My approach is "What has happened to you, and what strategies did you have to use that are now in the way of living your full life?“  I am continually humbled and honoured by the resiliency my clients build.

Continuing education is a vital part of my work as a counsellor. My life-long educational journey started in the Netherlands with a Bachelor of Communication Disorders from HAN University of Applied Sciences and led to an M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University, here in Canada. Post masters, I have added up-to-date trauma therapies like Internal Family Systems Therapy, TRIP (Trauma Regulation & Integration Process), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, San ‘Ýas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training and mindfulness. Most recently, I became an approved First Nations Health Authority Provider, received certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional, and am now working on an ADHD Informed Professional certification.

One of my favorite things to do in my downtime is spend time in the West Coast's beautiful nature with my family. I love to sing in my home studio and explore with my kayak.

As a straight, cis woman, mother, and counsellor, I humbly acknowledge living and working on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Katzie, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo, Musqueam, Tsawwassen, and Sto lo Nations.

I also offer other services including extended sessions and speaking engagements in the areas of self-compassion, trauma therapy, parenting, motherhood, emigration, life transitions, and self-care.
